Women of HR were asked, “If you were CEO for a day, what would (or did) you focus on to improve an organization’s productivity, employee engagement or ability to recruit?” This is the fifth post in the series of responses.
Wow! It is really fascinating to hear people call me a CEO of my company even if it is for a day! Let me make this a 12 hour work day from 7.a.m to 7.p.m. (only for me, employees can come in at normal office hours) Is this necessary? Yes of course, for me, as I am getting one shot at this and I need to maximize my work day to make a few hard decisions and to inspire everyone communicating why we do things the way we do!
Looks matter when creating an impression. But can looks create a wrong impression? Does a “look” depict who you really are as a person? What if people start to perceive your personality and capabilities wrongly based on your looks – especially in the business world?
Having a break in your career can be more frustrating than ever and can move you outside the active job market. Depending on how long you have been unemployed, you may already have have gone through the mental trauma of being ignored – not receiving any interview calls or responses to your job applications. Now the question is, what can you do to make this situation better or what steps can you take to position yourself in a winning spot?
I enjoy organizing employee engagement programs. I was recognized by employees and they acknowledged my work when they made our office the best place to work for employee engagement. I was doing an amazing job with employee engagement – or so I thought.
